The Mitsubishi Evo of mountain biking

By Markns2

About Me

The Epic makes going fast incredibly easy. It is extremely precise and gives you so much feedback as a rider. It reminds me of driving a mitsubishi evo in rallying; so well sorted that it builds your confidence in going fast. Descends incredibly well, yet climbs as well as my stumpjumper 29er ht. once you get the brain dialed, set it and forget it. I came from a 2008 Yeti ASR, which was spec'd with xtr and I thought that was a fast bike, but I was immediately significantly faster on the epic (which was confirmed on strava ;). I could also tell by the speed this bike carries through corners and how much more stable it is. Literally a night and day change you will immediately notice. The biggest advantages are 29" wheels for better stability and faster rolling, 2x10 drivetrain (I run a 39/26 chainring), and lightweight carbon roval control sl wheels makes this the perfect bike and several massive steps forward over a 26" wheeled 3x9 bike. Yes, it's expensive, but there is no doubt this is the one bike to have. Kulhavy has proven this consistently! Get it and you'll wonder why you didn't get it sooner.
